If you are looking for Walkabout Florence reviews, be aware that the name has changed. The old website walkaboutflorence.com redirects permanently to walkabouttours.com, and the brand you will see on the signs and in your confirmation is Walkabout Tours. The operator describes itself as "local experts since 2007", and in Tuscany it covers Florence, Chianti, regional day trips and the Cinque Terre.
The company appears to be Walkabout S.r.l. Unipersonale, VAT number 05945490489, founded by Mauro Bramante; if you need these details for a formal complaint, check them in the legal notes on the website. What it sells in Tuscany

Best of Tuscany is the first-timer's product: a day on a coach between Tuscany's most famous towns, at the lowest price in the range. The exact stops are in the tour listing, and they are worth reading, because not every "Tuscany in one day" trip follows the same route.
The Vespa is the product that sets it apart. It leaves at 08:20 or 13:00, the Vespa is automatic, helmet, fuel and insurance are included, and before you set off they explain how to ride it. In Chianti there are food and wine tastings. The rules are strict: at least 18 years old, and a valid car driving licence that you bring with you, no children as passengers.
The Wine Safari takes you into Chianti by off-road vehicle and is the tour with the highest rating on the operator's website.
The group-size problem
The low price comes at a cost, and it is not only the reviews that flag it: the operator's own website warns that groups are large, and customers describe coaches with more than 50 seats. That means more time spent getting on and off and gathering the group at every stop, and less free time.
The second practical limitation is that there is no toilet on board. The stops are the ones in the programme, and over a 12-hour day that matters. The third is that the tours are not accessible to wheelchair users.
The Vespa and off-road tours work differently: the number of vehicles naturally limits the size of the group. If you dread crowds but want to stay with Walkabout, they are the right choice.
Booking: meeting point, cancellation, changes
Meeting point. For all the Tuscany day trips you meet in Piazza della Stazione, next to the Santa Maria Novella taxi rank, opposite the McDonald's with the outdoor tables. The guide holds a "WALKABOUT TOURS" sign. It is an easy meeting point even if you only arrive in Florence the evening before. There is no hotel pick-up.
Cancellation. Free up to 24 hours before.
Date changes. This is where the complaints come in: people who ask to move their tour often find little flexibility. Book when you are sure of the date.
Walkabout Florence reviews: what people say
The numbers are high. When we last checked, Walkabout had a Tripadvisor rating of about 4.9 from about 34,000 reviews. The operator claims "4.9 from over 70,000" by adding together all the platforms, a figure we cannot verify. It has no page on Trustpilot. It is also the supplier of the Tuscany day trip that, when we last checked, had 4.9 from about 24,000 reviews on Viator.
The recurring criticisms focus on two points already covered: big coaches and rigid date changes.
Who it suits
Choose Walkabout if this is your first trip to Tuscany, you have a limited budget and you want a simple starting point. Or if you want to ride a Vespa in Chianti and you hold a car driving licence.
Look elsewhere if you want small groups on a day trip, you need an accessible vehicle, or you are travelling with children and want to do the Vespa tour.
The score is 4 out of 5: a 24-hour cancellation rule stated clearly, a simple meeting point and an outstanding rating across tens of thousands of reviews. The missing point is taken away by the full coaches, the rigid date changes and the lack of a toilet on board and of accessibility.
A practical tip: if you have just one day and want to see as many places as possible, take the coach trip and accept the pace. If you have two or three days, spend a little more on the Vespa or the off-road tour in Chianti, and get to Pisa or Siena on your own by train or bus: you will see fewer places, but at a gentler pace.
